Newsletter, New Stuff, and My Birthday!

  • Nov. 6th, 2009 at 12:58 PM

I sent out my newsletter last night announcing my new beads in the etsy shop, introducing readers to Now Showing, and a big sale at my website. If you aren't on the newsletter mailing list, you can view the newsletter here and take advantage of the sale too! For those of you who did get the email... did the mini-etsy shop at the bottom come through in the email, and did it work properly so you could click to etsy? I would love some feedback on that, please.

I still have a few more hearts and the keys and locks to list today. I am also working a bit on another etsy shop (I know! I am crazy!) This is one I set up a while ago for my tile and ornaments, but havent' really had a chance to utilize much. I thought I would revive it, call it the Earthenwood Ceramics Galleria, and start listing some of my finished jewerly in it. Maybe some tiles and ornaments if i can get some made for the holidays. I just don't like to mix it in with my etsy bead store for some reason.

Well, there is much to do today. And the weekend is every full with social gatherings. Sunday is my birthday! YAY, me! I will be off celebrating! see you all next week.

Laboring Heart and Extra Links

  • Sep. 7th, 2009 at 3:27 PM

Last week, I drove out to Pewabic to drop off some tiles and jewelry for the gift gallery. It has been WAY too long since I gave them any new work. I still need to make some earrings and bracelets and carded charms for them. Its getting to be holiday stocking time, and I really want to be able to have some finished items and gifts for the few galleries I work with. I would also love to be able to participate in a holiday show, and maybe have my own open house, all with lots of finished jewelry for sale! I am looking forward to having some help with the assembly part of the jewelry line. At this point, its the only way I can really do it. I ended up putting some of my brass filigree pendants on some simple chains for Pewabic. I think they look really nice, as simplicity is sometimes best to showcase intricate works.

I had a breakthrough last night in my creative block that I have been struggling with. I even got out the sketchbook to put down some ideas. I am really excited about the new line that is starting to come to life. And it comes to me in a way that is perfect... following along with my personal goals and thoughts and processes. I sometimes forget how healing the process of art can be. I think these new designs will remind me of this time, when my heart is being challenged and is healing and growing.

More thoughts on that later. For now, this week's Extra Links. Happy Labor Day!

Closed for Vacation!

Earthenwood Studio is closed for the holiday season until January 5th! See you in the New Year!

Yay! It's here~

So *squee!* after all the waiting and anxiety and busy rushing around, Christmas is finally here! I was able to sleep in a bit, because I am still kinda crampy, but not bad. I am a morning person, you know, and when I was little this was also the case, especially on Christmas. I would probably get up at 5 or 6 am. Of course the rule was that we kids (my brother and I) were not allowed to go downstairs first, we had to wait for Dad to go and see if Santa came. And I wanted to wake him up so bad, but knew it was so early. I would usually pace the hall for a bit, between their room and mine. And pretend I had to go to the bathroom probably. And try to quietly lure the dog and get him to wake everyone up. And as a last resort sneak into my brother's room, and because he was younger, make him wake up to get everyone moving. No one could get mad at the little kid! Not that anyone got mad at either of us...it was Christmas! But some reasonable hours were probably appreciated. And surely, my hijinks early in the mornig were completely obvious, as I am not really that sneaky or graceful or secretive, and I am a terrible liar and plotter. I was probably simply ignored so the parents could get a few more minutes of sleep! LOL! But I remember it taking FOREVER to wake everyone up, and this was my self-imposed duty.

Now I wait for my hubby to wake up, and he is the night owl. He did come to bed early so we could get moving to my parents house soon, and I will give him a little more sleep time. or maybe I can get the dog to wake him up...

I hope you all have a great day!

"But then Haji saw the north star shining more then ever
So he made a tourniquet from his turban saving Trevor
They repelled down the roof with the rest of the turban
and went back to the pub where they bought each other bourbon"

Below, the Ornament I did for Ornament Thursday on Art Bead Scene. I called her Party Pixie. I kinda really love the red ladybug shoes. It's a tribute to one of my favorites songs. You probably know the one...
Whoopsie! It's already dinner time and I totally forgot to blog today. It's been kinda crazy, I had writing stuff and photography to do this morning for my last big Art Bead Scene post of the year tomorrow. Then some shipping and stringing and random giftmaking and cleaning stuff. Totally just haphazardly running around without a list, maybe that's why I feel so out of sorts. And the parties and get togethers start tomorrow, so I am a little panicky. We went for a walk with Zoey which started to calm me down, but then we went to the grocery store which made me anxious again. Now we are settled home and I am going to clean a little while we listen to a cd I just found in the Faerie Con pile that I didn't listen to. It's very Celticy which is cool because of the Solstice and all and is quite calming.

In stark contrast to the calming Faerie music, the song today is Elvis Costello with "The Angels Wanna Wear My Red Shoes". Oh how funny, its old! I was only 4 years old when this was on, I think it is from Top of the Pops. Look how poorly Elvis is lipsyncing. He probably hated that, lol!

Last Day of the Market

A few more of the limited edition holiday beads, which were made into these velour tubing/memory wire bracelets for the Potters Market. They seem to be mostly gone now:

As requested, I put this limited edition Snow Guy bead up on Etsy. I have more assorted things I can list there, I just sometimes need to be prodded... If you want something, just email me, I might have it in stock.

YAY! Happy Thanksgiving all! Just a quick post this morning as I wait for the hubby to wake up. We are spending the day at my parents' house. My brother arrived from Philly, which I am excited about. We have turkey and all the trimmings AND a Tofurky too. I will have some of each, please!

Earthenwood Etsy shop re-opening!

  • Nov. 16th, 2007 at 9:42 AM

I have re-opened my Etsy shop! I plan to list ready to ship items, as time is closing in on the holiday season, and since my website items are all made to order and take time to make,I figured Etsy is a good place to show what I have in the studio that can be ready for holiday shipping. The new limited edition Poppy series is up first...it is the only place these are available right now!
