Newsletter, New Stuff, and My Birthday!

  • Nov. 6th, 2009 at 12:58 PM

I sent out my newsletter last night announcing my new beads in the etsy shop, introducing readers to Now Showing, and a big sale at my website. If you aren't on the newsletter mailing list, you can view the newsletter here and take advantage of the sale too! For those of you who did get the email... did the mini-etsy shop at the bottom come through in the email, and did it work properly so you could click to etsy? I would love some feedback on that, please.

I still have a few more hearts and the keys and locks to list today. I am also working a bit on another etsy shop (I know! I am crazy!) This is one I set up a while ago for my tile and ornaments, but havent' really had a chance to utilize much. I thought I would revive it, call it the Earthenwood Ceramics Galleria, and start listing some of my finished jewerly in it. Maybe some tiles and ornaments if i can get some made for the holidays. I just don't like to mix it in with my etsy bead store for some reason.

Well, there is much to do today. And the weekend is every full with social gatherings. Sunday is my birthday! YAY, me! I will be off celebrating! see you all next week.

Clockwork Scarab Slave Chain

  • May. 5th, 2009 at 11:29 PM

I am still recovering from Penguicon, and trying hard to get back to work. I actually got some important stuff done today, including some shipping, some legal/copyright stuff, and glazing and firing a kiln. So that's pretty good! But I still don't have enough energy to post much, so here's another picture of some new work. This is a slave bracelet made for my new friend, the fabulous author Catherynne Valente! You may remember that her new novel and her character description were the inspiration for the Clockwork Scarab carving, and this is what I made for her with it. I had the pleasure of presenting it to her personally, when I met her for the first time at Penguicon last weekend, which was a real treat! Oh, and also, today is her BIRTHDAY! Happy birthday, Cat! *hugs*

A quick blogging break from all of my own personal costume stuff to say happy birthday to my dear friend Skennedy aka [info]atdt1991 ! I don't think I ever really showed pictures from last halloween of the big project that we worked on together, for his Tentacle Monster costume. We spent an intensive and wonderfully fun week working on it, and it is time that I treasure. The Monster had been hibernating for a couple of months, but we got him out again last weekend for the Masquerade, and it was great to see and even bigger crowd respond to it. Of course, the Monster duo was not complete without Lucy as the Anime Chick, looking sassy and great as usual. What a fun thing to have helped create... I am so glad we got to spend that time together and share these memories! Happy Birthday, Scott!

So raise a glass for a birthday toast, or wave a slimy tentacle... whatever... for Skennedy today

happy birfday!

mmm...my birthday cake! It's a little cheese cake, yum! It had better last until Saturday for Chuck's birthday too, but no promises...
